I am a big fan of peanut butter, preferably the chunky unsalted natural kind! I started with having peanut butter on my toast and gradually moved to adding it in salads, milkshakes and smoothies. If you love peanut butter the way I do, it is better to use the unsalted natural butter. Other than peanut butter, I have used ingredients such as dates, figs and milk to make it more healthy and delicious.
Difficulty level: Easy
Category: Beverage, Breakfast
1-1.5 tsp peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
1 date-roughly chopped
3-4 dried figs
1-1.5 cup milk (any kind)
Step 1: Roughly chop the dates and figs.
Step 2: Add all the ingredients in the blender and give it a good whirl until everything is well and truly blended.
Step 3: Serve it chilled or room temperature for morning breakfast.
All the ingredients in this milkshake use are naturally sweet, so any additional sugar is not required to sweeten this milkshake. If you think you need more sweetness, add more dates or use honey, but avoid adding refined sugar.
If you don’t like dried figs, so feel free to replace it with almonds or walnuts. Dry fruits add body to the milkshake, so adding more nuts will make it more filling.
Feel free to use the milk of your choice.
